President Trump announced that he would delay, by 1-month, the administration’s proposed 25 percent tariffs on autos from Mexico and Canada. Representatives from the automotive industry have indicated that tariffs would raise the manufacturing costs of vehicles and leave them less competitive. Absent further delays or negotiations, tariffs on autos and parts imported into the U.S. from Canada and Mexico are still expected on April 2.
