As governments across the globe continue to increase spending in an effort to combat the global pandemic, many are beginning to attach environmentally friendly conditions in order to receive the aid. For example, some governments are requiring auto makers to focus their effort on developing more electric cars and requiring aviation factories to develop more climate friendly planes in return for COVID-19-related support. However, some industries said that these extra conditions are burdensome, making it harder to recover from the pandemic, and instead should focus on saving businesses now. Out of the $12 trillion dispersed for stimulus packages, only $583 billion have been allocated for climate related action.
