Last Friday, October 16, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) released their global transition roadmap for the LIBOR transition. The guide offers a timetable of actions for financial and non-financial firms to take in order to ensure a successful transition away from LIBOR by 2021. The FSB notes that the roadmap is designed to “inform those with exposure to LIBOR benchmarks of some of the steps they should be taking now and over the remaining period” in order to mitigate potential issues caused by not transitioning. The roadmap comes as the FSB reiterated their commitment to transitioning away from LIBOR by 2021 back in July.
