In a recent speech, Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Powell warned that the U.S. economy could be in serious danger if it doesn’t stop the rise in COVID-19 infections. Chairman Powell noted that the previous policies of direct payments to families, forgivable loans to small businesses, and extra unemployment money helped the economy recover but if they aren’t renewed, the U.S. could see an “incomplete recovery.” This week, President Trump indicated that he would not be negotiating a new deal until after the 2020 election.
