ADP’s National Employment Report, released September 1, showed private sector employment with greatest gains in leisure and hospitality (201,000) and education and health (59,000), with total non-farm increase at 374,000. This is trending with July at 326,000, but still far below expectations. With stimulus ending, Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics says Delta variant impact will be notable as employment trends remain “inextricably tied to the path of the pandemic.”
