The Consumer Confidence Index, released November 30, reported consumers’ plans for large purchases, like homes, cars and appliances, decreased for the first half of November falling to their lowest in nine months. The labor expectations from the Index were somewhat stronger than in October with 58% of consumers saying, “jobs are plentiful”, up from 54.8% last month, while still showing concerns over short-term labor conditions, down 2.3%.
