Responsibilities:
– Lead and assist rating committee transaction reviews with specific focus on the progression on borrower business plans as well as loan and transaction-specific structures and mechanics.
– Draft and review rating committee documents and rating reports including, but not limited rating committee presentation materials, business plan commentaries, transaction wide surveillance reports and press releases.
– Complete and review cash flow analyses on non-stabilized properties of all types including, but not limited to multifamily, retail, office, hospitality, industrial and self storage properties.
– Run credit models with analytical adjustments as required.
– Work with the internal data team on a monthly basis to assess changes throughout DBRS Morningstar rated CRE CLO book by providing necessary files to maintain data integrity.
– Participate in a lead and/or supporting role in published research and DBRS Morningstar hosted webinars on topics specifically related to the CRE CLO sector.
– Participate in meetings with collateral managers, issuer and investors throughout the industry.
Qualifications:
– At least five years’ experience in commercial real estate, preferably with working knowledge of bridge loan lending and the commercial mortgage back securities industry.
– Cash flow underwriting training across all major commercial real estate property types.
– Strong analytical skills related to commercial real estate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to learn internal systems specifically related to modeling, regulatory requirements and publishing.
– Ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment.
