Dr. Alex Edmans, Professor of Finance at the London Business School and author of “Grow The Pie: How Great Companies Deliver Both Purpose and Profit”, sat down with AlphaWeek to discuss why ESG investing matters – even to non-ESG investors. Within the piece, Dr. Edmans noted that industry members who aren’t traditionally involved with ESG investing should begin to look into it,“Even if you’re an investor like a hedge fund manage, who cares primarily about financial returns, you should care about ESG,” Edmans pointed out. “Caring about stakeholders isn’t at the expense of profit, it supports profit.” Dr. Edman concluded the interview by noting that while these factors are “non-financial” now, they will be “financial” in the future and will impact future profits.
