The Consumer Confidence Index, released January 30th, showed improved sentiments across the index at 114.8, up from 108.0 in December, and marked the third straight month of increase. More respondents in all age groups and almost all income groups reported the present business conditions and labor market as ‘good’ while feeling less pessimistic regarding their future family finances and the likelihood of a recession.
