Interest rates on repurchase agreements could rise again in December as Treasury market auction settlements increase at the same time bank balance sheets are expected to tighten. Towards the end of the year, the very largest banks are expected to reduce participation in low margin businesses like repo as their 2025 capital requirements will be tied to their size at the end of this year.
