Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr announced a forthcoming scaled-back version of the Basel III Endgame which would raise capital requirements for the biggest banks. Originally proposed to raise capital requirements to 19%, the Federal Reserve’s revised plan would drop this to 9%. The proposal will now only apply to those banks with over $250 billion or more in assets, scaled back from the originally proposed $100 billion threshold.
