On November 7, the Federal Reserve lowered the federal funds rate by a quarter of a point to the range of 4.5%-4.75%, as inflation approaches the Fed’s 2% goal. The Fed’s post meeting statement noted that inflation remains somewhat elevated, and unemployment remains low with labor market conditions easing.
