On December 10, the Federal Reserve lowered its federal funds rate rate by a quarter percentage point, to a range between 3.5% – 3.75% – its third cut this year. For the first time since September 2019, three of the twelve voting members went against the decision with a “no” vote, signaling potential disagreement on future rate decisions.
