Fannie Mae Publishes Survey Results on Consumer Home Price Sentiment

According to a recent Fannie Mae Home Price Sentiment Index survey released on January 8, consumer optimism increased 2.9 points in December to 67.2, illustrating consumers’ confidence for homebuying. According to the survey, this sentiment is tied to expectations for a drop in mortgage rates. The survey found that 31% of consumers expect mortgage rates to fall, 31% expect mortgage rates to increase and 36% expect mortgage rates to remain the same in 2024.
