The February 28 Treasury Preliminary Report of Foreign Portfolio Holdings compares June 30 2021 data with the same date in 2020 and breaking out ABS holdings at $1.56 trillion, up from $1.489 trillion in 2020. Asian residents in Japan, Taiwan, and China held $332 billion, $245 billion, and $217 billion respectively. Tax haven Cayman Islands held another $139 billion. The final report is expected to be released April 29.
