Kevin George

Director of Advocacy

Kevin George serves as Director of Advocacy at the Structured Finance Association, where he leverages over a decade of experience driving federal and state legislative strategies. At SFA he is responsible for political and legislative strategy, cultivating the strategic partnerships necessary to advance SFA’s policy priorities. Kevin is a recognized expert in banking and financial technology policy, with a proven track record of coalition building and navigating complex political landscapes.

Kevin joined the Structured Finance Association from the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) where he spearheaded legislative strategy and secured key wins for state regulator priorities on Capitol Hill. Prior to CSBS, Kevin worked for Congressman Stephen Lynch where he was lead staff for the Chairman of the Task Force on Financial Technology and handled a broad economic policy portfolio. He also served in multiple roles across federal and state government, including for U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp and in the Minnesota State Senate. Kevin is a frequent speaker on the intersection of banking policy and Congress at industry panels and other public forums.

A native of southern Minnesota, he remains a long-suffering fan of the Minnesota Twins. He earned a master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University and a degree in Political Science and Media Studies from St. Olaf College.
