Dan Taylor
Head of US Financial Regulatory Policy and SVP, Federal Government Relations
Dan joined HSBC North America in April 2022, where he leads federal legislative and regulatory advocacy on a variety of issues affecting the bank. His portfolio includes prudential regulation, capital markets and digital assets, among other things.
Dan most recently served as the Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (KY-06). In this capacity Dan was the lead staffer in support of the Congressman’s work on the House Financial Services Committee, including in his roles as the Leader of the Subcommittee on National Security, International Development and Monetary Policy, and Leader of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
Prior to his service on Capitol Hill, Dan was a Director of Federal Government Affairs at American International Group (AIG). At AIG, he led or supported federal public policy advocacy on issues impacting the company’s property/casualty business units and enterprise-wide federal priorities, and managed AIG’s federal and state political action committees (PACs).
Dan previously worked as a legislative analyst for Bloomberg LP and at a Washington, DC, lobbying firm. Dan earned a Master’s Degree from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Vanderbilt University.
