Brian Appel
Senior Director, Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy, U.S.
Since August of 2022, Brian has served as a Senior Director and Head of U.S. Government Affairs and Public Policy at S&P Global. Prior to joining S&P Global, he worked for over fifteen years in the United States Senate. Most recently, Brian served as the legislative director to a U.S. senator from Colorado. Before serving in the Senate, Brian practiced law, where he focused on securities litigation and enforcement matters. Immediately after graduating college, Brian worked as an aide to a Congressman from New York. He obtained his A.B. from Colgate University and his law degree from American University, Washington College of Law.
