POSITION SUMMARY

The Structured Finance Association (“SFA”) is seeking a Vice President, Government Affairs & PAC to support the organization’s political engagement and advocacy infrastructure. Reporting to the Global Head of Advocacy, this role will oversee the strategy, administration, and growth of SFA’s Political Action Committee (SF PAC) while supporting broader government relations initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in political fundraising, PAC administration, or government affairs operations, with a strong understanding of the federal political environment and the role of trade associations in advancing industry priorities.
This role will work closely with SFA’s Government Relations and Policy teams, member firm government affairs professionals, and external consultants to strengthen SFA’s political engagement and advocacy impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

– Oversee the strategy, administration, and growth of the SFA Political Action Committee (SF PAC), including fundraising planning, donor engagement, and event coordination.
– Ensure full compliance with all Federal Election Commission (FEC) requirements, reporting obligations, and applicable campaign finance laws.
– Coordinate PAC fundraising initiatives, including events, member outreach, and engagement strategies with SFA leadership and member firms.
– Work closely with SFA’s Government Relations team to identify strategic opportunities for political engagement that support SFA’s advocacy priorities.
– Manage the logistics and administration of PAC events and political engagement activities.
– Maintain and track PAC contribution records, donor engagement, and political participation across SFA membership.
– Assist in the development of political strategy and intelligence related to Congressional races, committee leadership, and relevant policymakers.
– Support the planning and execution of SFA advocacy initiatives, including Congressional fly-ins, briefings, and coalition activities.
– Serve as a key liaison with member firm government relations teams on PAC participation and political engagement opportunities.
– Collaborate with external consultants and partners supporting SFA’s advocacy and political initiatives.
Occasional out-of-town travel will be required. The list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and there may be other activities you are required to deliver depending on business needs.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
– 5+ years of relevant experience in political affairs, PAC management, government relations operations, or campaign finance.
– Strong understanding of federal campaign finance law and PAC administration requirements.
– Experience coordinating political fundraising initiatives or political engagement programs.
– Ability to work effectively with senior industry executives, government relations professionals, and policymakers.
– Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to exercise sound judgment in politically sensitive environments.

DESIRED
– Experience working for a trade association, political committee, or Capitol Hill office.
– Familiarity with the financial services or capital markets industry.
– Experience coordinating PAC fundraising events or political engagement programs.
A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $125,000-$175,000. This range represents the company’s good-faith estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
