White House Nominates Martin Gruenberg to Serve as FDIC Chair

On November 14, President Joe Biden announced he will nominate Martin Gruenberg to serve as Chair and Member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Gruenberg, a Democrat, chaired the FDIC Board from 2012 to 2018, and has been Acting Chairman since February, following Jelena Williams’ resignation. The latest White House announcement follows the nominations in September of two Republicans to fill the additional vacancies on the FDIC Board.
