Ranking HFSC Republican Promises Change in Financial Policy Agenda Ahead of Midterms

During a speech at the American Bankers Association’s Washington Summit, House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Patrick McHenry (R-NC) promised a reversal of Democratic financial and banking policy priorities should control of the House of Representatives flip to Republicans following upcoming midterm elections. Commenting on President Biden’s key banking regulator nominations and their policy priorities, Ranking Member McHenry stated that GOP lawmakers would seek “a lot more oversight of the financial regulators than what we’ve seen in this Congress.”
