Julia Gordon Confirmed as FHA Commissioner

After a long and contentious confirmation process, which began in June 2021, the Senate confirmed Julia Gordon as Commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) on May 11. The position had been vacant since early 2021, but Gordon’s nomination met with resistance and delays, prompting former FHA Commissioner Dave Stevens to comment that he “applauds the Senate for finally confirming Gordon.” SFA submitted a letter in support of Gordon’s nomination in July 2021 in which SFA CEO Michael Bright called her “eminently qualified to lead the FHA.”  Read more.
