HFSC Republicans Raise Concerns Over SEC Rulemakings Amid Recent “Technical Glitch”

On October 18, Republican members of the House Financial Services Committee (HFSC) – led by HFSC Ranking Member Patrick McHenry (NC-10) and Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets Ranking Member Bill Huizenga (MI-02) – sent a letter to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler inquiring and expressing concern about the recent “technical glitch” at the SEC that impacted several rulemakings. Following the glitch last week, the SEC announced it would reopen comment periods for eleven rulemaking releases to allow for resubmission. Some of these include the proposed rules on cybersecurity, climate disclosure, and private funds.

SFA has confirmed that our comments on these relevant proposals were received by the SEC at the original time of submission.
