On June 13, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Christy Goldsmith Romero to succeed Martin Gruenberg as Chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Additionally, he plans to nominate Kristin Johnson to be Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions, Department of the Treasury. Both Romero and Johnson currently serve as Commissioners of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Other nominees include Caroline Crenshaw, who currently serves as a Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission for an additional term and Hawaii Insurance Commissioner Gordon Ito to serve on the Financial Stability Oversight Council.
