Published on November 20, 2024

WASHINGTON, November 20, 2024 – The Structured Finance Association (SFA), a leading trade association representing the structured finance and securitization industry, today announced the appointment of Daniel J. Grattan as Global Head of Advocacy. As the face of SFA in interactions with legislators and regulators worldwide, Grattan will champion SFA’s policy positions and work to influence key decisions that impact the structured finance market.

We are excited to welcome Daniel to the growing SFA team,” said SFA CEO Michael Bright. “Daniel’s meaningful financial services background, deep political relationships, and financial regulatory policy expertise make him perfectly positioned to lead and execute SFA’s global government relations strategy, driving legislative and regulatory outcomes in support of our mission.”

“Daniel is a talented government relations professional with a proven record in both policy advocacy and financial markets. His extensive experience will bolster the strong capabilities we already have on the team and build on our already successful efforts to advocate for the structured finance industry,” said SFA COO Covell Adams.

Before joining the Structured Finance Association, Grattan was the senior vice president for governmentaffairs for Regions, an Alabama-based bank with approximately $160 billion in assets and a member of the S&P 500 Index. Prior to that, Grattan handled government relations for the Mortgage Bankers Association. Grattan is consistently named one of the “Top Lobbyists” by The Hill newspaper.

I am delighted to join the team at the Structured Finance Association to advocate for a robust and healthy securitization market,” Grattan said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to advance SFA’s policy agenda of helping the economy grow by safely enabling greater credit access to industry, consumers, and investors.”

Grattan is a graduate of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. He is also a volunteer coach for Arlington Soccer, Arlington Lacrosse, and Washington Capitals Youth Hockey.
