Elen Callahan

In her role as Head of Research, Elen Callahan is responsible for directing the Structured Finance Association’s research strategy and furthering the mission of general education on the securitization industry. Prior to joining Structured Finance Association, Elen held a number of senior roles at Deutsche Bank, starting in 2003. She was previously Director, Head of U.S. Consumer ABS Research from 2009 – 2016 and most recently served as COO/Associate Director of Global FIC Research since 2016, where she implemented a value-add research agenda across Securitization, Emerging Markets, High Yield, Rates and FX. Elen also has expertise on the buy-side and bond issuance through her time at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank and CapMac.
Elen has previous experience working in collaboration with SFA, including serving as one of the organization’s U.S. delegates to its inaugural Beijing ABS Conference. She has also been very involved with both SFA’s Women in Securitization Steering Committee and Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). Elen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from New York University.

His expertise spans data analysis, validation, and the development of analytical systems, along with evaluating their performance. Notably, Vadim holds a substantial background in research publication, contributing significantly to the field. His illustrious career in financial services showcases remarkable skills in fundamental analysis, investment and portfolio management, and due diligence, specifically in structured credit, whole loans, and corporate analysis.
Amy Sze
Managing Director, ABS Research
JP Morgan
Amy Sze is a Managing Director and head of J.P. Morgan’s ABS Research team, covering non-mortgage consumer and commercial asset classes. For the past decade, Amy and her team have been consistently ranked by Institutional Investor and Greenwich Survey. Over her research career at J.P. Morgan, Amy has covered various securitized products including Subprime RMBS, ABX, ABCP, and CDOs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Economics-Math from Columbia University and is a CFA® charterholder. Amy has been a member of the SFA’s Women in Securitization® (WiS) Cabinet since 2018.
John McElravey
Executive Director/Senior Fixed Income Analyst

John McElravey, CFA®, Executive Director, joined Sterling Capital Management in 2023 and has investment experience since 1985. John is a Senior Fixed Income ABS Analyst. Prior to joining Sterling, he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston as a Markets Specialist. Previous work experience also includes working as a Managing Director in charge of ABS Research at Wells Fargo. John received his B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Saint Louis University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
William Black
Consumer Credit and Structured Finance Expert, Credit Risk Management Leader
William is a highly regarded consumer credit professional and industry leader who earned his reputation as the long-time head of Moody’s consumer structured finance new ratings team for the US, Canada and Latin America. His knowledge and expertise spans a wide range of consumer asset classes, including: credit cards, auto loans/leases, student loans, residential mortgages, single-family rental, floorplan, marketplace lending, cell phone, timeshare, solar, equipment, rental car, and PACE.
Presently, William provides consulting services for other market participants. His deep knowledge and understanding of complex consumer asset classes positions him as a valuable resource for strategic guidance and insights, helping clients solve problems and reach their goals. He also shares his analysis on an array of topical consumer credit issues in his periodic newsletter, Consumer Credit Matters
