Palmer Rafferty

Director of Advocacy

With over 15 years of experience in government affairs and on Capitol Hill, Palmer Rafferty serves as Director of Advocacy at the Structured Finance Association (SFA). In this role, he helps lead SFA’s advocacy efforts, leveraging partnerships and relationships with stakeholders and policymakers to advance the association’s public policy priorities.

Palmer joined SFA from TransUnion, where he served as Director of Government Relations, overseeing federal government affairs across both Congress and the Executive Branch. Prior to his time at TransUnion, he was Deputy Chief of Staff to Congressman Bill Huizenga during his tenure as Chairman of the Capital Markets Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee. Palmer also served as the lead financial services advisor to U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-LA).

A proud native of New Orleans, Palmer lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with his wife and two children. He earned a degree in Political Science from Sewanee: The University of the South.
