The possible cessation of LIBOR in 2021 was brought up at two House Committee on Financial Services hearings this week. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle raised concerns about possible risks posed by the current uncertainty surrounding the LIBOR transition, potential disruptions to the market, and the efforts being undertaken by financial institutions and their regulators to ensure a smooth transition. The SFA Government Relations and Policy teams continue to educate Members of Congress and staff on the many issues related to the possible cessation of LIBOR in 2021.
