The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) issued changes last week modifying its hedge accounting rules. The changes aim to prevent companies from being required to discontinue hedge accounting amid concerns that uncertainty over the reference rate transition could affect their ability to provide future-looking analysis. The changes will go into effect on January 1, 2020, but companies can adopt the changes earlier if preferred.
