A former executive of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), Robert G. Cameron, has been named as the CFPB’s private education loan ombudsman, a role that was vacant for almost a year. At PHEAA, a non-profit organization that services over $425 billion in debt, Cameron was responsible for risk mitigation and litigation. Similarly, at the CFPB, Cameron will work to field complaints from private student loan borrowers.
