Department Overview
Fitch is looking for an Associate Director to join the Asset Backed Securities (ABS) team. The position will be responsible for assisting in the development of tools used during the rating process, enhancing cashflow modelling analysis and analyzing large datasets. The position will also include a role in rating ABS transactions and maintaining assigned rating relationships. We are looking for a team member with strong communication, critical thinking, and quantitative skills. The role covers the wide array of ABS sectors, including: auto loan and auto lease, student loan, aircraft lease, utility tariff, unsecured consumer loan, equipment leasing and asset-backed commercial paper.
Requirements:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Developing, testing and implementing models and tools used in the rating process;
-Utilizing technical expertise and coding skills to build automation tools for enhancing workflow efficiency;
-Assisting in the development of ratings criteria and developing solutions to enhance analysis;
-Analyzing critical credit, legal and structural elements of ABS transaction structures;
-Producing quality internal and external written reports including credit committees, special reports and market commentary; and
-Leading and/or supporting research projects.
Qualifications:
-An ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 4-years work experience with firm structured finance understanding and familiarity with cash flow modeling.
-Strong quantitative and technical expertise with previous coding and implementation experience in VBA, SQL, and Python are required.
-Exceptional communication (particularly in writing), organizational and time-management skills are also a must.
-The candidate will be self-motivated and able to manage timelines across many disparate projects and showcase a willingness and ability to quickly learn new concepts and techniques.
-Former experience with securitized products (ABS, CMBS, or RMBS) is highly recommended but not required.
