Strategic Diversity Consultant & Professional Speaker
Dr. Eric Lueshen is a strategic diversity consultant, educator, thought leader, and renowned professional speaker who has worked with hundreds of universities and businesses. He covers a wide variety of topics including social justice, LGBTQ inclusion, mental health, overcoming adversity, masculinity, sports and more. Eric works with sports organizations, coaches, administrators and student-athletes at all levels of sport on building infrastructures of inclusion.
He was a place kicker for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2003-2006 and was likely the first openly gay Division 1 college football player. Eric is a frequent guest on radio talk shows and podcasts, and a contributing writer for different publications. His drive has led to numerous accolades on and off the field. While finishing his PhD in biomedical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Eric found a passion for LGBTQ inclusion in sport work and has vowed to make the world of sport a safe place for all. He works closely with the NCAA, Equality Coaching Alliance, Human Rights Campaign, the Trevor Project, OutSports, WeCOACH and other organizations on inclusion initiatives.
