Lawmakers are pushing back against the Administration’s pressure to include an institutional investor ban in either of the two recent bipartisan housing proposals. Hesitation stems from a lack of guidelines defining a “large institutional investor” and a “single-family home”. In a February 10th hearing on U.S housing affordability, the House Financial Services Committee discussed three separate bills that would ban institutional investors.
