Alberta Laskaj Knowles is a Partner in the Financial Services Office Advisory practice at EY US. She has over 20 years of financial services experience, 17 years within Structured Finance Advisory Services working on various structured products. She has worked with investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, private equity firms, government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) and insurance companies within the areas of structured finance (SF), leveraged finance, derivatives, mortgages and commercial real estate. Alberta has worked closely with asset management, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting where she has performed leading practice assessments on policies and procedures as they relate to pricing and valuation of complex structured securities. Alberta has worked with the various operational functions (front, middle and back office) to understand compliance with policies and procedures. Ms. Knowles manages services related to the issuance and ongoing compliance on more than 500 Collateralized Debt Obligations/ Collateralized Loan Obligations (CDO/CLO). She is responsible for all services including client relationship management, engagement management, project management, and general day-to-day operations for the group. Alberta supervises and coordinates collateral test recalculations, re-engineering of cash-flow analysis and due diligence on all types of CDO/CLO portfolios throughout the US, Europe and Asia. She has spoken on various industry panels such as the Dodd Frank’s Act impact on SF agreed upon procedures, CLO operational matters and gender parity. Alberta is heavily involved in the Structured Finance Association and is a co-lead for the association’s Women in Securitization (WiS) program where she works with women in the industry to hold events and determines the initiatives WiS will partake in for each calendar year. Alberta is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and a SFIG Board member.
